  • Congratulations LINDA Crabtree! You've been selected as the winner of our 12/11/09 contest! please contact us directly at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to claim your prize! We chose Linda's Rockem Sockem Robots photo from 1971 as something that exemplifies I HAD THAT!!

Our next contest is for those of you (or your kids) who are a little tech savvy. On December 11th, we will select one winner from our list of Facebook Fans who have placed FAN photos on our Facebook Fan Page. That winner will have submitted the most interesting photograph.

What photos are we looking for? Either pictures of you and your family AT the museum, OR, vintage photos of you as a child playing with your favorite toys of yesteryear (sorry kids, Pokemon does not yet count as 'vintage'). Because of the added effort involved, we aren't anticipating as overwhelming of a a response as previous contests - so, if you have photos to share with us- your chances are EXTREMELY good!!

The winning entry will receive, of course, a 4 pack of tickets to see the musem (if you've already come, come again or hand them to a friend!). You will also receive our exclusive shadowbox sculpture and box set.

Update: The winner of our randomly selected drawing is Ms. Tina Jarosz! Congratulations Tina + watch for us to contact you directly.

Our first December Contest is NON-facebook, imagine that!

On December 4th, Mark Klaus' "Holly"Wood Christmas Movieland will draw from a random EMAIL newsletter subscriber. The winner will win 4 passes to the museum, AND an Angel Jewelry Box (already mentioned on our Store Page)

Subscribe to our newsletter right on the right side of our home page. Just another way for us to communicate with our Christmas Fans! And don't worry, we won't abuse your email address- there is an UNSUBSCRIBE link on every email that we send!

Thanks to our donors, we are establishing one of the largest collections of vintage toys on the planet.  We'll be bringing some of favorites and NEW favorites to the museum this year.  If you have a vintage toy that you would like to donate to the museum so that others can share in the excitement of it, please bring it with you on your next visit to the museum!

With a Christmas movie connection, the Mark Klaus' "Holly"wood Christmas Movieland museum will have toys/props from the movie TOYS. Sure to touch a memory from the past.

One of our favorite versions of Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol stars is the one with Patrick Stewart (of Star Trek lore).  We obtained the Collection of Costumes from a private collector. Including the Scrooge's ONLY costume through his long night 'dream' sequence. This gown screams eloquence and dreary all at once - just like Scrooge himself!

Mark is creating a one of a kind display. Wait until you see this!

    .

We obtained the Fred Claus Vince Vaughn leather coat. Vince wore this leather coat throughout the movie. What a find!

Added at the end of 2008 was the fitted mask worn by the child actor who played the young grinch in JIm Carrey's Grinch: The Movie.  2009 will also bring in Cindy-Loo-Who's Bedroom set, and, literally, tons of new material.  What can we say, we love the Grinch Movie!

Other additions include the Dump it to Crumpit. This prop is HUGE! The complete elementary school room including the teacher's chair, chalk board, blocks and more, and of course more Grinch food

9/6/09 update- Who hoa!  We just grabbed the Eggnog chair that Jim Carrey laid on and the funnel that poured the egg nog into his mouth. That takes the Grinch collection to over 500 pieces!!!

New for 2009! A MUST SEE...Yes, Virginia, we will have A Christmas Story this year!!!

Through our partnership with Brian Jones of A Christmas Story House we will have costumes of the most loved Christmas movie.

The 2008 inaugral season was an incredible success for the Mark Klaus' "Holly"wood Christmas Movieland- and we had a LOT of fun doing it!  Check out our recap video for '08.

In the spring of 2009, Mark Klaus discovered a treasure trove of Cleveland History.  The wooden building sets from the Downtown Cleveland Higbees Christmas Window display were found in excellent condition in a 3rd floor downtown Cleveland warehouse.  Being restored for the 2009 museum season, these 3-6 foot tall 'miniature' buildings provide an excellent backdrop for our I Had That Toy collection.  Come and See and REMEMBER what it was like to walk downtown and see the pure joy that Higbees poured out on Kid-dom in the 50s and 60s.
